About Laura Schopen, CH:
- Laura has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Martin's University in Lacey, WA.
- Her interest in hypnosis began in 1996 when she used HypnoBirthing® for natural childbirth with her first son. (Read My birth story). The experience was transformative, igniting her passion for exploring the mind and the deeper levels of who we are.
- She received her advanced training in hypnotism from the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera, CA in 2004. HTI was founded in 1978 as one of the first licensed hypnosis schools. Today she has over 300 on-site classroom hours in hypnosis. She's received extensive training in hypnotic regression, Gestalt methods, and dream work.
- Laura is also a certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator through the original HypnoBirthing - The Mongan Method program.
- Her education and practice meet the strong ethics and quality standards of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). She engages in ongoing education to keep up her skills and meet the quality standards of these organizations. She is an active member of the Washington state South Sound Local Chapter of the NGH.
- She has studied and practiced bio-energy healing since the mid-1990's. She received Reiki Master Level 3 attunements in 2004, and was trained in Reconnective Healing® (via the work of Dr. Eric Pearl which you can learn about at www.thereconnection.com) in 2008.
- Prior to opening Inner Wellness Center in January 2009, Laura practiced hypnosis part-time, while she served as a communications professional/manager for an internet company. She has 20 years experience working in the corporate environment.
- Laura also volunteers for Harbors Home Health & Hospice. She is a 20-year student of A Course in Miracles, which is a spiritual work based on the power of forgiveness. In her spare time, she loves to play guitar, crochet, and hang out with her husband of 14 years and two wonderful boys.
