About Reconnective Healing®
Reconnective Healing® provides a new way to work with the human energy field. Founder Dr. Eric Pearl was a chiropractor in L.A. with no prior experience or interest in energy healing when he first brought through these frequencies. He tells his remarkable story in the book The Reconnection, an international best-seller on healing. At least two serious scientific research groups are involved in investigating Reconnective Healing, including Dr. Gary Schwartz at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, and Dr. William Tiller at Stanford. Eric Pearl's work is documented in six books, and also featured in the new movie on the human energy field called The Living Matrix.
During a session, a client lays down fully clothed on a massage table, and just relaxes. As the client quiets their mind and turns their attention inward, I tune into the frequencies and then move my hands in the air above the client, "feeling" for anything I can sense in their field above their body. I stretch and "play" with the sensations, as I walk around the body, but unlike other techniques I do not have a specific intention to clear auras or blocks, etc. With Reconnective Healing, the practitioner is like a conduit that allows the fequencies to go where they go naturally.
A client's experience of the session is very individual. Some people exhibit certain slight body reflexes which are called "registers," but some do not. Some people feel things, or notice other sensory sensations. Almost everyone feels a sense of relaxation and well-being by the end.Despite testimony that suggests the contrary, no health or other benefits are guaranteed. Someone with undiagnosed pain or a medical/mental health condition needs to have a written referral from their licensed caregiver before a session to ensure our work together is safe, ethical and legal.
Reconnective healing defies our current understanding of physics. I practice it, not because I intellectually understand it today (although I have well-founded hopes that science will learn more in the future), but because I have experienced it and feel that it has helped me and others. I encourage anyone interested in Reconnective Healing to honor your desire to understand it, but not allow that unmet desire to prevent you from experiencing it.
Session Fee
Sessions last one hour, which includes 10 minutes of consultation before the table time, 40 minutes on the table, and 10 minutes to debrief. I charge $60 per session.
My own story with healing energy
My commitment to energy healing began in 1997 when my first son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Severe Combined Immune Deficiency. In essence, his body could not produce T cells or B cells, which make up the body's immune system. The treatment was a bone marrow transplant, which he underwent at 8 months of age.
During this process and the many seeming life-or-death moments that we faced, I turned inward to find ways to comfort myself and my very sick little guy. I had studied the chakra energy system of the body, and I frequently used what I could feel was healing energy within me for baby Ray and myself. I believe this was one important part of our experience that helped us both come through the ordeal.
Several years later, I studied Reiki, and I frequently offered it to both my little children. They used to call it my "tingling hands" and they asked for it when they had an earache or a growing pain. There have been many occasions where Reiki was helpful and seemed to make an important difference in a challenging situation's outcome.
As one example, several years ago, I was able to use Reiki via distance when my second child broke his arm. By the time I reached the emergency room, he was so quiet and calm that the attending nurses thought he'd been given morphine. (We had to intervene because they were concerned he may have been given too much, even though he hadn't had any medicine at all!) He was in no pain, and by the time the doctor was ready to set the bone, the fracture somehow had shifted, so that what they had first believed was a bad break was not as bad.
In 2008, I made the decision to learn Reconnective Healing®, and today this is what I use instead of Reiki. There are many healing energy systems available today, including Reiki, Johrei, Qi Gong, Therapeutic Touch, and others. Researchers studying Reconnective Healing think these frequencies are "new," and one theory is that it is a spectrum of frequencies that contains all the known frequencies named above, but also extends the band of frequencies beyond what we've had access to before.
